JavelinaHunter.com J13 Deluxe Javelina Call

The JavelinaHunter.com J13 Deluxe Javelina Call is explicitly engineered to trigger aggressive defensive instincts in wild javelina. Rigorously field-tested in the harsh Arizona desert against wild, free-ranging herds, this specialized game call for javelina delivers the precise pitch and high-volume resonance required to provoke a reaction. Rather than acting as a standard predator call, the J-13 mirrors the exact sound profile of an injured or trapped herd member. It successfully exploits the peccary's intense pack, herd, and maternal defense mechanisms to draw them rapidly out of heavy cover.

Why the J-13 Deluxe Javelina Call Outperforms the Competition

How do you use the JavelinaHunter.com J-13 Deluxe call to hunt javelina?  The JavelinaHunter.com J13 Deluxe Javelina Call is operated by blowing from your diaphragm while cupping your hands around the barrel to manipulate air restriction. By altering hand pressure and breath intensity, the call emulates the harsh squeals and grunts of a cornered or wounded piglet. This specialized javelina vocalization call relies on invading their territory or faking a herd emergency to provoke an immediate response from surrounding herd members.

Javelina Calling Tactics FAQ

Javelina are curious but cautious. We recommend calling for 30–45 seconds, then pausing for 2–3 minutes to listen and scan. Repeat this sequence for about 20–30 minutes per stand. If they are in the area, they will often investigate the sound rather quickly.

Both are effective, but distress sounds are superior for triggering an immediate, aggressive response. Javelina are highly communal; hearing another member of their herd in distress often triggers a protective instinct, causing them to charge in to investigate.

Calling from a slightly elevated position—such as a ridge overlooking a wash or feeding area—is best. This allows you to see the herd's approach and provides a better vantage point, as javelina have poor eyesight but an excellent sense of smell.

Yes. Predators like coyotes and mountain lions are well aware that javelina distress sounds mean a potential meal. Using the J13 Deluxe in areas with high predator density can be a highly effective way to draw in coyotes that are already keyed into that specific food source.

I have not gotten to use this in the field yet but it sounds nasty practicing with it in the garage watching some youtube videos on how to use it. If it gets anywhere near the reaction from Javelinas as it did from my wife when she stormed out into the garage after I started blowing it i should have a great hunt in a couple of weeks! It is easy to blow and has a great raspy tone i just need to work on technique, 1st ever Javelina call for me
