Product Overview
The FOXPRO Cottontail Distress Diaphragm Mouth Call is designed to reproduce one of the most effective sounds in predator hunting—the distress cries of a cottontail rabbit. For decades, rabbit distress sounds have been a proven producer of coyotes, foxes, bobcats, and other predators, making this call a valuable addition to any predator hunter's calling setup.
Featuring a hands-free diaphragm design, this call allows hunters to create realistic distress sounds while keeping both hands available for firearms, optics, decoys, or electronic callers. The ability to continue calling without additional movement can be a major advantage when predators approach cautiously or unexpectedly.
The FOXPRO Cottontail Distress Diaphragm Mouth Call is engineered to produce realistic high-pitched distress sounds that mimic a vulnerable rabbit in distress. Hunters can vary volume, cadence, and emotion to create customized calling sequences that sound natural and convincing in the field. This versatility helps hunters adapt to changing predator behavior and hunting pressure.
Compact and lightweight, this diaphragm call easily fits into a pocket, vest, or call case. Whether used as a standalone predator call or combined with electronic callers, it provides an effective hands-free option for creating realistic distress sounds that predators recognize and respond to.

Storage and Maintenance
Caring for your diaphragm calls is very important to maintain ultimate performance. You should tend to your mouth calls all season long. Here are a few tips for prolonging the life of your diaphragm calls.
- After use, be sure to rinse them with a mouthwash and water mixture or use tap water. Once they have been cleaned, carefully dry them with a towel or paper towel. Insert a toothpick between the top and bottom reeds. Then allow them to air dry for several hours, DO NOT SET THEM IN THE SUN. Once you have left them dry you can then remove the toothpick(s) and place them back in some sort of bag or container. Store them in a cool, dark place afterwards.
- Heat is a very big problem with mouth calls. If you leave your mouth call out in the sun or in your vehicle this can damage the latex. This will cause the latex to expand and will ultimately affect the sound quality and also lifespan of the mouth call.
